Last week, Morgan Sindall Construction collaborated with Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology to engage students in a range of construction-based activities. This included 2D design workshops and bringing their projects to life with a 3D virtual tour, in addition to learning about the career journey of one of their apprentices, Keelan Boon, and a Trinity College site tour. The event, and week as a whole, was a great success — and we saw a rise in the number of students that were interested in construction as a result.

Morgan Sindalls asked us to decorate the mini-moo with images of the building designs the students have been creating thus far.

Instead, young professionals looking for a suitable mate are flocking to apps like The League and syncing their LinkedIn profile in the hopes that their resumes will help seal the deal and find them someone special. The men know that women they meet in The League are career oriented, intelligent, ambitious and are working just as hard.

The League has been described as Tinder for the elites. In order to join, potential users are screened and selected based on their education and professional history. Bradford became interested in online dating after becoming single following the end of a five-year relationship. She had no control over who could view her profile, including potential business connections, bosses and coworkers.

She also felt like she had no idea who the people she was being matched with were. There was no context to their profiles — just their name and their photo.

This is according to a new study from the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford in collaboration with eharmony , which tracked changing preferences and communication patterns among single Brits over the past decade. This suggests that people feel they also have a maximum communication limit when looking for a meaningful relationship. In the study, singles were actually fairly restrictive in the number of people that they communicated with at any one time.

This may indicate that they are more invested in their search for a truly compatible partner. Whilst strategies might vary across more casual dating platforms, users on eharmony are particularly invested in finding a long term romantic partner, so we are confident that these findings are applicable to non-casual courtship behaviour in general. In line with this, researchers also found that more attractive users tend to be the most complacent, initiating less conversation as they increasingly gain confidence in their ability to attract interest.

Oxford and Cambridge universities, also known collectively as Oxbridge, hold a special place in the imagination. However, they also have some popular, and sometimes false, stereotypes about the kind of students that are admitted.

Oxford and Cambridge universities both emphasise that they seek to attract the best and brightest applicants regardless of background, and have rigorous and fair application procedures designed to let the best candidates shine. Both Oxford and Cambridge agree that choosing the degree you wish to study, not which university you want to apply to, is the most important decision to make. Make sure you read the course details carefully. Remember, you will be asked about your choice at the interview, so strong personal interest in the course is essential.

Both universities are world-renowned in both arts and science subjects, so the decision is largely an individual one. Cambridge usually comes above Oxford in the Complete University Guide rankings, but this is partly due to its subject mix.

Tom Beardsworth I’m going to keep calling him that, because it’s a funny name is a writer for some Oxford University blog called Cherwell. He recently wrote a piece called “A Guide to Dating Posh Girls” aaaand, well, without sounding bitter, it was obvious that he’d ripped us off.

And then The Daily Mail — continuing a proud tradition of assuming that the behaviour of Oxbridge students matters more than the behaviour of ones at cheaper universities — got hold of it and made a scene. Eventually Cherwell. He responded with the bullish confidence of a rich guy, a man who sees suing people as a legitimate response to a little Facebook row. Let it be clear, it really doesn’t bother me that a student ripped us off in what is effectively an online fanzine for boring people, but it’s quite funny that he’s denying it.
